No matter what walk of life you come from, or interests you may have, know that you can make a difference!
Whether the difference is in your own life, through pursuing higher education, or a dream – you can make
a true impact to others no matter your age or status!
As a 34 year employee within the communication industry, Leslie worked her way up from a clerical position
to a Senior Manager, while raising a family, going to Denver University’s Women College on the weekends (on
an accelerated schedule), and pursuing various community service activities.
Throughout the years, Leslie was always seeking a deeper level of fulfillment since the job alone did not
satisfy the desire to make a difference within her community. Therefore, she became Meals on Wheels driver
(3 years), and soon after became the Secretary of the Northglenn Victim’s Assistance Law Enforcement
(VALE) Board (19 years). For fifteen years, she has led numerous backpack and school supply drives helping
families out in the Adams County area and for 6 years has participated in the Muscular Dystrophy Association
Lock up – beginning amongst the top fundraisers within the area. In 1994, Leslie initiated the Devereux Cleo
Wallace (DCW) Holiday Gift Giving Program and led it for 19 years. She involved hundreds of Lucent and
Avaya employees each and every year to provide meaningful and plentiful gifts for each of the children at
DCW that were in need. As a member of the Northglenn Arts and Humanities board, Leslie started
Northglenn’s Art on Parade program which has grown over the years to include over $400,000 worth of
sculpture within the city of Northglenn. Leslie has also served as the President of the DU Women’s College
Alumnae Association (2 years) raising money for scholarships for worthy women seeking to expand their

years. The NCF raises funds and provides grant assistance to residents that are of having financial difficulties
and are at risk of having their utilities turned off. The NCF also supports Meals on Wheels, Ralston House,

Leadership Programs.

Leslie has been a member of the Dan Peak Foundation for several years now. She also has continued on with
the NCF and VALE Board. Leslie does not only believe in giving back to the community, but also believes that
generosity begins at home, with helping out with three smart and talented grandchildren numerous days of
